Resume Writing Process

I utilize a comprehensive methodology to help you find your next position/opportunity; take your career to the next level and navigate through career transitions and professional development. The resume development process starts with a career discussion, followed by an in-depth analysis of your professional experience, competencies, accomplishments and qualifications—in alignment with your career objective and employer hiring requirements.  Steps in the writing process include:

  • 1 on 1 in-person or telephone discussion
  • Review of your career history
  • Determine best strategy and approach for development of the resume (format, style, what to include and what not to include in the resume, etc.)
  • Development or rewriting of your resume
  • Draft copy provided for your review
  • Changes are made based on discussion
  • Your approval and sign-off
  • Your new resume can be picked-up or email out to you

Fees and Service Level

There are two levels of resume writing services offered—editing of existing resumes and full re-writing/development from scratch.  The main difference between the two levels of writing services is that the full-writing service is much more thorough and comprehensive, while the editing service is a polishing-up of your existing resume.  Fees are based on career levels: entry-level (students, new grads or individuals with minimal experience) middle-career (experienced professionals), middle and senior management and executive level.  Please click on the applicable button to see my fees.

Your Review and Approval

The review and approval process is applicable to all resume services provided to clients to ensure your complete satisfaction.  There is no additional cost for changes/modifications to the draft resume after your review.  I am committed to producing an outstanding resume that will generate results for you, thus earning your repeat business as you progress and transition through your career to better opportunities.

Turnaround Time

Turnaround time is usually 3-5 business days, however a shorter time frame can be arranged if there is a position deadline or an opportunity that you would like to apply for immediately.  Unless there is a specific time agreed upon ahead of time, I will notify you by email or telephone when a draft is ready for your review and approval.

Payment Methods and Terms

A deposit of 50% is required in order to start working on your resume.  Payment can be made by Visa, Interac e-Transfer, Direct Debit, PayPal and MasterCard.  The balance, including sales tax is payable before any work is email out to you for your review.  Please keep in mind that I do not process any refund once the resume, cover letter or any other career document is sent to you via email for your review and approval.  Nonetheless, it is my goal as a PRW to work with you one-on-one to completely ensure that your highest level of satisfaction is met.  Further amendments following your review of your resume will be finalized and sent to you within 2-4 days, unless another time is requested and agreed upon.  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about this Policy.

  • By the time this e-mail arrives you will probably be asleep. I just wanted to say that I am extremely pleased with the way that you have written and structured the cover letter and resume. I am happy that you were able to incorporate so much of what we discussed into the resume and cover letter. I think that you have been able to address the majority if not all of the requirements Teck Mining was seeking in their job posting.

  • Thank you, thank you and thank you. I am pleasantly surprised with my resume and my cover letter. It was worth every dollar even more. I hope you understand how much I appreciate your help. I’m so impressed with your work. The cover letter looks really great, I couldn’t ask for a better one. The resume is also very impressive, I would like us to review one or two lines and that’s all. In all my resume write up/rewrite, I have never written something this great. Once again, thanks and I’ll call you briefly later today.

  • I am extremely impressed with the resume and cover letter. I realize that I asked you to stuff a lot of information into this resume; however I feel that you have certainly risen to the challenge! I don’t feel there is any need to revise anything that you have written. I am going to send this along to Bert (the recruiter in the UK) and we will see where it goes from there. Once again, thanks for an outstanding job. I will keep you abreast of how things go and look forward to talking to you soon
